Public Transport

The X40 River Rapids bus service connects the Arboretum with both Oxford and Reading, travelling through Wallingford, Benson, and Berinsfield. See the map above for details of the route (this may be subject to change, always refer to the Oxford Bus website for up-to-date route and timetable information).
Alight at the Baldon Lane bus stop for the Arboretum and use the pedestrian gate (marked on map above, or see this link).

Cars and cycling

From Oxford: On the Eastern Bypass, head to Heyford Hill Roundabout, and take the exit for the A4074 to Reading. The Arboretum is on the right, just as you leave the village of Nuneham Courtenay.

From Reading: Follow the A4074 to Oxfordshire. The Arboretum is on the left, just as you enter the village of Nuneham Courtenay.

There is parking available on-site (free with your entrance ticket, although for certain events, such as our Autumn Fair, parking must be booked in advance).

Cyclists coming from Oxford are recommended to come via Cowley Road, Hollow Way and the B480, then through Toot Baldon and Marsh Baldon to avoid busy roads.

Please note: There is no bike storage at the Arboretum and cycling is not permitted on site.
