Making Sense of Botany

making sense of botany

Join us for a super sensory workshop at the Botanic Garden that explores how we feel, smell, taste and see the world around us. Guess what natural materials our selection of objects are made from, just by the way they feel, look at flowers through the eyes of a bee and find out how plants use smell to attract and repel animals and insects. Taste your way around the Rainforest Glasshouse and discover the range of sounds that can be heard, if you listen close enough! Learn how to take a cutting of a popular herb and have a small piece of the Botanic Garden to take home and grow on.

Tickets to the workshop are £10 per child which includes 1 free adult. Additional adults are able to enter for our normal admission price, so why not bring a picnic and indulge your senses for the day!

Suitable for 5-9 year olds. Spaces must be booked in advance via the Science Oxford web site.
