The Wild Weather Book Competition!

To celebrate the launch of “The Wild Weather Book”, the University of Oxford Botanic Garden and Harcourt Arboretum are running a competition to find out what our visitors like to do in the great outdoors.  We have 3 copies of the book to give away for the top 3 entries.  The top 10 entries will have their outdoor activity ideas published on our websites (;

In “The Wild Weather Book”, Jo Schofield and Fiona Danks offer 72 brilliant, imaginative suggestions for wild things to do outdoors on wet, windy and snowy days.  Imagine jumping in the biggest puddle you can find.  Or running barefoot and feeling squidgy mud ooze up between your toes.  When it’s wet, or windy or cold, there’s no need stay cooped up indoors: it’s a great opportunity to rush outside for some fun.
We’d like to know how you enjoy yourselves outside, and what activities add to the adventure of exploring the great outdoors.  To enter the competition, you need to take an original photograph of you and your family or friends enjoying activities in the great outdoors, with a description of up to 100 words to accompany your picture.
Closing date for entries: Friday 25th October 2013.
