Looking Good Now – Hamamelis: Witch hazel

Come to the Botanic Garden or the Arboretum in Nuneham Courtenay to enjoy the seasonal beauty of the witch hazels flowering.

You can’t miss our wonderful specimen in the Botanic Garden – just walk up the central path and find it near to the central fountain.

At the Arboretum the Acer Glade is home to a number of different varieties including: Hamamelis mollis, Hamamelis x intermedia ‘Primavera’, and Hamamelis x intermedia ‘Pallida’. Don’t miss the lovely flowers on Chimonanthus praecox (Japanese Allspice). If you are visiting, don't forget that we are open Mon-Fri only, and bring wellies or sturdy shoes!
