On a cold and rainy afternoon in February members of the Education Team found shelter in the warmth of The Ashmolean Museum and helped children and families create giant blooms to take away. The aim was to help families appreciate the stunning colour and pattern that flowers use in order to attract pollinators, in part inspired by the Still Life gallery at the Ashmolean showcasing some of their Dutch masterpieces.
In total over 500 children visited the museum during the afternoon and many went home clutching giant poppies, sunflowers and tulips. Thank you to our volunteers who helped us throughout the afternoon.
