The events lawn in the garden was a hive of activity and learning, on 26th October, with children and their families taking part in a variety of activities about minibeasts. We were joined by Anthony Roach and his colleague Chloe from Earthworm Watch (Earthwatch Institute). They were able to provide expert knowledge on the three different types of earthworm that we find in different areas of the garden. Children were not only able to hunt for worms in the garden, but handle worms too! Some of the older children enjoyed making food chains (literally) and learning about the important feeding relationships that exist between species. Some beautiful collaborative artwork was also created that will be exhibited at our future events. Plenty of minibeast homes were made to take home and put in many of Oxfordshire's gardens. Many children enjoyed making Oreo spiders to take home too!
