We do not produce an Index Seminum but we are able to supply material to organisations, exclusively for scientific, educational, and nature conservation purposes on the following conditions:

1. Material is supplied for educational and non-profit making scientific purposes. If any financial gain is made from the plants grown then that profit is subject to the spirit of the 1992 Convention on Biological Diversity.

2. The University of Oxford Botanic Garden would expect to be cited in any scientific papers resulting from research in which the Garden’s material is used.

3. The University of Oxford Botanic Garden reserves the right not to supply seeds that it considers might become pernicious invasive weeds if they were to escape from the confines of the receiving institution.

4. It is assumed by the University of Oxford Botanic Garden that the receiving institution will not request species that might escape from their garden and become invasive weeds. The final responsibility for deciding which species may become invasive remains with the receiving garden since the staff in that garden will have a better knowledge of local conditions than the Garden Staff in Oxford. The University of Oxford Botanic Garden accepts no responsibility for any ecological damage caused by plants that it supplies.
